In about a half hour I will truck down to CH-12 to do Friday's edition of Dixie Diesel Maximum Overdrive TV. The part of what is heard on Hazzard County Radio dealing with issues and concerns of those who try to make a buck driving a truck. The trouble I'm having is every time I get to wanting to open my mouth about something that might be of a nature that may make a few of those Mormons here a bit put off. The thing is not everybody in Pocatello is LDS, or follows that path although many would want it that way. Full dominion of anything is wrong. Even God above allows us to have free agency. The thing is just as it is with any media there is a quick option to opt out, turn the thing off or switch channels. The big trouble I think is that what I'm doing is setting a precedent for radical FREE thinking. Hey in this side of the state there is just no room for that in the view of those running CH-12. The thing started a few weeks ago when I ran some of the segments from Sue Magarvie Sex with Sue .com The reason I talk sexual issues on my shows is not to be smutty its to do some serious education to those who just might need it, my core listeners , the American Trucker not to be a Q&A for youth wondering if they need to let good ole Johnny poke a bit of fun after the dance. But hey according to the staff mainly the director there we just can't have that. The basis of this goes much deeper than keeping CH-12 a clean squeaky sweet channel. It goes to the fact that I have been pushing to get someone in charge of CH-12 that has a bit more of an open view and focus not to allow someone to speak their own mind. But it is of a nature not here. The only reason I keep at it there is simply in a very few more weeks I'll be setting my sails towards moving to the much warmer side of Idaho. Once I get settled I'm going to pitch my show to Treasure Valley/Boise's cable access channel. Meaning a bit more radical thinking but a show that will need much more polish. More tonight gotta truck.
