When I sit down at my computer any more I make sure I have at least the following beside me. My Skoal, some Goody's Headache powders some java and if I can afford it a 5th of Jack Daniels. Without those mind easing if not alterating substances around forget computing. The PC even Windows XP that still needs constant downloaded upgrades and Vista which should have went through much more testing before being put on the launch pad is really a pure hell any more. Now Windows 98 was not perfect but it had less bugs, and Win-ME was no ones darling but I thought it ran better than even XP, any mile. It is now nearing summer, folks are going to be out in abundance this weekend putting flowers on graves. However might I interject here, the purpose of Memorial Day is not just to put flowers on graves of all our beloved dead, its to remember and pay tribute to the many men and even women who have died in military service to this nation. But even with gas hitting $4.00 a gallon, in most places and diesel nearing the $5.50 a gallon in most places and when people should be saving money and staying at home they will be out giving all of us professional drivers one big migraine. And TV network execs and station owners/managers think this way as well. So its repeat run season and more of this reality TV crap. Who cares about American Gladiator and such. About the only reality TV show with any real substance is the CW's Farmer wants a Wife. When Hollywood writers went on strike last February it caused one big tidal wave all through Hollywood. Including live or partly live TV, like the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and others, nobody was there to write the idiotic jokes, and now that they are back writing I don't see much more of an improvement. Now during the summer when most are going places and this year that may be curtailed a bit because of high fuel prices, the local theaters will be filled but I have not seen anything scheduled for the big screen that would make me want to go out, and spend $10.00 plus grub meaning at minimum $20.00 stand in line until my inner arches hurt listen to boobing children to watch a big screen remake of another TV show or a redoit of an older box buster movie. I want to see something fresh. And yes lack of both acting writing and production talent not only in my woods but Hollywood itself has something to do with it. Financial institutions are reluctant to lend money for Indy(Independent Production) films, but we need a fresh breath here. By defense of TV , TV networks are too much into reality TV simply because reality TV needs little if any production or script writing. The TV networks and production firms do not want to be caught with their junk in their hands again if writers walk out again. For those looking to get into a fresh film, our production company Southern Steele Media is looking for fresh talent, if interested the number is 208-705-0676 , we are working on two new films as well as our run at two redone better film remakes of two older TV shows, one being of course AirWolf and B.J. & the Bear. All of it though begs the question, will TV survive? On one of the old Star Trek Next Generation episodes the thought was presented about TV and Commander Data said that style of entertainment did not last past the 22nd century. Which again begs the question will TV survive? Only time will tell, as that bell tolls. What about my dear friend Radio? Will radio survive? M thoughts on that next flyte. For the Ayre-Rush this is the AyreWolf Reporting.
